Problem

Room temperature fluctuates during the day

A fluctuating temperature means the system alternates between overheating and underheating. This is uncomfortable and costly, since the unit runs more often at extreme settings.

Two logics at once

If the room sensor and the outdoor-temperature curve both regulate strongly, they start correcting each other. We recommend reducing the influence of one.

Sensor placement and night setback

A sensor in direct sunlight, near a fireplace, or in a hallway gives a misleading signal. A large night setback in an underfloor-heated house also causes fluctuation, since the floor reacts slowly.

Frequently asked questions

Is night setback worth it?+

Usually not in an underfloor-heated house. In a radiator-heated house, a small setback can work.

How much fluctuation is normal?+

±0.5 °C per day is a good result. More than 1.5 °C points to a control problem.
